Apprenticeship in Spectator Safety Level 2Course descriptionThis Spectator Safety apprenticeship is aimed at those individuals looking to enter the sector as a steward, marshal, or an assistant ground safety officer for sporting events. The qualification concentrates on all the aspects of Spectator events and aims to highlight the importance of Health and Safety and following ground rules and associated regulations The qualification consists of 6 units and covers all aspects of stewarding activities from: Preparing for Spectator Safety events to ensure the area is safe for spectators. Controlling the entry and exit of spectators to ensure safety. Monitoring and dealing with crowd problems and the importance of following the correct procedures. Help to manages conflict. Importance of working as a team. What to do in the event of an emergency or accident. What's covered?All Apprenticeships consist of a Framework of different elements. They must include qualifications that, when achieved, prove the Apprentices competence in carrying out work of the Level and type identified in the Framework. Also included must be qualifications which demonstrate the technical knowledge of the job and industry, plus more wide ranging general skills required to operate successfully in the trade; these will include Maths, English and, if appropriate, ITC. Mandatory UnitsThe learner must achieve six mandatory units. 1. Prepare for spectator events 2. Control the entry, exit and movement of people at spectator events 3. Monitor spectators and deal with crowd problems 4. Support the work of the team and organisation 5. Help to manage conflict 6. Deal with accidents and emergencies How is the course assessed?The course is for 12 months and the assessment is within the workplace to ensure all the competencies are met. Regular review meetings will take place with an assessor and employer to support the achievement of the qualification. What could this lead to?Steward: Monitoring crowds and dealing with problems Marshal: Helping to provide for the health, safety, enjoyment and security of spectators Assistant Grounds Safety Officer: Helping to resolve conflicts, assisting in the safe operation of the ground. |

NVQ/QCF in Spectator Safety Level 3/4Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Spectator SafetyThis qualification is aimed at team leaders, senior stewards and head marshals and is designed to assess their skills and competence at spectator events in a more in-depth and stringent manner. The programme has been created to build upon individuals existing knowledge and qualifications. Learners will be expected to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in preparing both stewards and their venue for spectator events. The programme also examines their ability to develop working relationships with colleagues and concerned parties, as well as how to respond and deal with spectator problems and emergencies Level 4 NVQ/QCF in Spectator Safety ManagementThe Level 4 NVQ/QCF has been created to assess the competence of stadium and arena managers and safety officers. Learners are expected to demonstrate ability, planning for and ensuring the safety of people at an event, managing resources and developing implementing policies. What I will gain?This course will provide a formal verification of professional understanding of safety stewarding.. The qualification is aligned to the need of business; it allows employers and learners to take control of the learning experience.
